IML: removing torsion bars on 57

I am now building up my new engine with a 6-71 and a lot of other go fast 
stuff.
I have a nice set of headers but the torsion bars from the front suspension 
are a bit in the way.
Can I just remove the torsion bars and go airride??
Front first and later a 4 link on the rear axle also with air.
