Sometimes, a master
cylinder can be used on both disk brake cars and non disk brake cars. If it is
used with drum brakes, there wll be a check valve in the fitting hole to keep
some pressure in the line. For disk brake cars, this valve is removed. You could
also have a bad hydraulic brake hose that is acting like a check valve. Of
course, it could be a bad caliper cylinder too.

problem
I had a leaking master cylinder on my 81 and I just changed it a
couple of days ago,the brakes were fine except for the leak.now the brakes are
sticking and this is the first time driven,I have not looked into it yet as it
just happened so I m not sure if its the front or rear.the park brake is not
on at least by the pedal anyway, what could be the trouble here?thanks.
