Piano Wire!

Go to a piano repair shop with a sample of your old wire. Should cost you about one dollar.

Be happy.

You may be able to get your shifter cable from Imperial Services at 989-652-6309. They make throttle cables, engine and transmission mounts, transmission shift and park cables and speedometer cables for most Imperials. I ordered parts from them for my 1962 Crown and found them very helpful and the product high quality.
