IML: valve cover decal question

In the process of an engine cleaning, my decal(s) were removed and lost.  I can see the shadow of where one was on the passenger side, but not on the driver's side.  Question: Are they supposed to be on each valve cover, or only on one (and if so, on which one - driver's or passenger's side)?
