Re: IML: Braking Tests

Imperials share little else with the other Chrysler
products in many places under the car, and especially
the muscle cars when it comes to running gear.
Applications that are good for C body will hold some
promise - not so much for the other, lighter cars I
should think.

The ball joints are all larger on an order of
magnitude for example, and I had to jury rig some dust
boots to fit as they're not available seperately.
Imperial stuff just isn't in big enough demand in the
aftermarket to justify tooling up to make the neat-o
things that you'll see advertised for the muscle cars.

The drums on the Imperial were likely the largest
drums available. (?) Caveat emptor about
re-engineering your brakes, man. The stock ones WORK
GREAT. Come up and drive one of my cars if you're
worried that you're wasting money on stock stuff.
Drive your car up and I'll help you install a new
system from my garage stool.

You seem bound and determined to put something else on
there, though, so good luck (and I do mean that
genuinely) - let us know what you learn out of it. I
think that you're breaking new ground with the ceramic
stuff and alternate drum ideas.
