RE: IML: 1958 Imperial Convert.HELP!

As recommended earlier, DO A COMPRESSION TEST.

If you don't, anything else you do is shooting in the dark.  All the things you have done should be done for old engines anyway, but, as you have seen, are not helping you with your problem.

You are idling fine but stumbling under a load.  That indicates an improper air/fuel mixture.  There are a gazillion reasons why this could be happening.  Once you are certain your cylinders have the proper compression, start with vacuum leaks and move on to carburetor adjustment and tuning.

Once you think you have beaten the leak gremlin and rebuilt and adjusted the carb to spec, have a performance tuning shop put a sniffer in the exhaust and measure your A/F ratio at different RPMs.  You may find your jetting is not correct.

Even if your jetting used to be correct, as engines wear their characteristics change, and when they're repaired they change again.  I can't recommend this highly enough, and most shade tree folks don't have the proper equipment to do this analysis.
