So interesting!! Of course a 1960 Imperial
makes great impression to boys like those you mentioned! They have, of course,
never seen such a luxury and fine car! Car producers will never, never give mankind
such fine cars again! Imperial Crown

Tom Scott Just a light human interest story, This morning the local pee wee football team and
cheerleader squad was having a car wash fund raiser about a mile from my
home. We're heading to the local drive in tonite so I fgured I'd take the
60 Crown back to have it washed. Besides, $5 to hand wash an
Imperial...that works out to about 1/10 of a cent per pound!! Well
I pulled in to the car wash area and there were about 15 nine and ten year olds
washing to pick up trucks. When they sawthe Imperial, they literally
threw down the hoses and sponges and migrated towards the car. One little
guy poked his head through the window and asked if he could wash the car. When I pulled the car into the washing area, there
were 10 kids helping out, none of which could reach more than a quarter of the
way across the hood. On kid came up to me and asked if it was my
car and I said it was. He said, ' Cool car, you must be rich'.
Another kid asked me how old it was and told him 1960. He said, 'That's
ancient, my dad was born in 1965'. Another kid wanted to know if
the car came 'with the tail lights like that?' Then the team photographer posed all 15 or 20 kids
around the car with their CAR WASH sign and took a picture. I don't
know who was more excited about the car, the kids or the parents that were
there helping out. Anyway, neat experience and the Imp is clean and
ready for The Ballad of Ricky Bobby tonite at the drive in. Tom Very Popular 60 Crown |
