Thanks everyone. It was fun checking out the Imperial yesterday. All the
pot
metal (?) trim inside the car is pitted and it looks like some previous
owner did a quickie repaint and re-upholstery job on it, but overall it
looks "okay." There were definitely some rust bubble showing through the
paint on the lower quarter and the carpet looked like a new but cheap kit.
The suicide single master cylinder was low or leaking and made for a couple
of FUN STOPS during the test drive. But the old 440 seemed to be in good
running order. I think his price of $500 is a bit high, considering what
might be lurking under that new carpet and paint. I think I will sit tight
and see if his price comes down after awhile. Does anyone have any photos
of
what a 66 dash pad SHOULD look like? I think the one in this car was a
re-cover. The only "nifty option" I saw was power windows, but they
operated
very slowly. Is that normal? And finally, please don't laugh, but what sort
of gas mileage could one expect from a 66 Imperial with 440?
