Technically, the spare tire trunk, or Flight Sweep Deck Lid, was not available in 1962. Any 1962 Imperial so equipped is not really "correct". It was prior to that, and was once again in 1963. It may have been possible for a customer to order the lid separately and have it installed at the dealer, however, nearly all that I have seen were added much later by collectors and restorers.

I saw briefly on the BarletJackson Auction TVshow the other night a white
'62 Crown Convertible go through the line like they were going to auction it
that night but they didn't. It had the spare tire trunk on it and looked
pretty much mint condition as most of their stuff does. Anybody know if they
saw that Imperial go through the auction block and how much it brought?
And the price they show on the TV Screen is the bid price. Does anybody know
how much commission they charge on top of that and what about sales tax in
AZ?
