The 1955 and 1956 Imperial Crown limous were built by Chrysler, an update based on the LWB 1949-54 body. For 1957 Chrysler had Ghia in Italy take Imperial bodies and stretch them. They were built from 1957 through 1965, with the exception of 1962. 1958 and 1959 Ghia limos were based on leftover 1957 bodies. Ten limos, based on Ghia tooling, were built in Spain for 1966. >From 1967 through 1971 Chrysler offered a stretched Imperial LeBaron limousine built by Stageway, increasing the wheelbase from 127" to 163".. About fifteen were built during that period. After that, any stretched Imperials were done by the buyer and were not Chrysler offerings. Chrysler did offere a stretched sedan and limousine in the 1980's but they wer based on the LeBaron "K" body and sold as Chryslers with no reference to Imperial. I went on a search for Imperial Limousines. Does anyone know if every year Imperial was made into a stretch. I don't think that 90-93 Imperial were made into a stretch? -Thanks ----------------- http://www.imperialclub.com ----------------- This message was sent to you by the Imperial Mailing List.
