Re: IML: '67 440cid freeze plugs



Thanks guys:

It is a driver, so I just want to get it running.  However, this freeze plug is on the SIDE of the head, and the plug is completely out.  I just need to re-install.  Best I can figure is that the exhaust manifold MUST come off first, right?

1&1/4" diameter?  Hmmmm, I'll correct the one I have ordered.

Got it with the rubber plug dry, and the metal re-inforced manifold gasket - sealer on both sides of the gasket?

Dave, I've thought the same way, when it's a driver, who cares? I was at Detroit Drag-Way, and lost a freeze plug on one of my Road Runners, it was a small leak, I removed a screw from the sill plate and screwed it in the hole.We finished the days racing, I drove that car for another year, and never replaced the plug.Dave.
