Hi.Last year I did unadjusted the bars and I made sure that the adjuster paws were all the way down against the adjuster bolts and then I put the bars back in. The one thing I do not know is do you leave the nuts lose that hold the lower control arms in the frame while you adjust the bars or do you tighten them first and the adjust.
I would to thank all of you that have replied and tried to help on this. Bob68 imperial convertible----- Original Message ----- From: "Pete Engel" <peter.engel@xxxxxxxxxxx>

If you do that you will never be able to really load the bars the way you should. If you have the adjuster bolts cranked all the way in and the ride height is till too low or the car bottoms out then this is probably the case. You will have to back the adjuster bolts way, way out, slide the t-bar out of the adjust socket, and then twist the socket until the adjuster arm is touching the bolt rounded head. Try to slide the t-bar back in then. When I hit a bump in the road the front end bottoms out and hits the frame. I had a guy at a local repair shop tell me that when I had the lower control arms rebuilt that they must have put the adjusting cams back on in the wrong spot . And that is why I am having this problem I have the adjusting bolts on both sides all adjusted all the way up. Also I have a lot of play in the steering I have replaced the power box-upper and lower ball joints-outer tie rods-all the bushings-idler arm-shocks-. I am planning to drive out to Arizona this summer to see my future wife's daughter and try to meet some of the people on the list that live out there. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
