Gear reduction starters don't fit 1960 unless the car has been retro-fitted with the '62 or newer style engine and transmission.

@Gary and Dave: is this the correct starter for the "old" RB series engines 59-62) ? I am also looking for a 1960 starter, and 440source doesn't have them for the old RB bigblock engines.

The universal number is Lester 3257-1.5 HP, or 3258-1.8 HP, both are gear reduction starters. Dave

You can buy the high torque starter from Napa just be asking for a high torque starter.  It is about 1/2" shorter that the normal starter.  If you can not find one let me know and I can pick one up.  mopar413@xxxxxxxxxxxx
