Lordco or another local jobber may be able to supply this if you take your plug in. Are you sure it is stripped? Maybe it is a just a gasket problem. If the jobbers can't help, I can check my books for oversize options.Jim Carpenter -------- Original Message -------- Subject: Re: IML: stripped oil pan drain Date: Fri, 23 Mar 2007 18:40:14 -0500 From: Stevan Miner <miner@xxxxxxxxxxx> Reply-To: mailing-list@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx To: <mailing-list@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> References: <BAY104-F30F72BA2DA54AA7CC50C2A36A0@xxxxxxx> Hi Robin,They do make oversize drain plugs that actually cut new threads as you're installing them. I would try that first before going through the work of removing the oil pan.Stevan Miner Miner Auto Service Winnebago, MN ----- Original Message ----- From: "Robin Giesbrecht" <robings@xxxxxxxxxxx> To: <mailing-list@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Friday, March 23, 2007 3:29 PM Subject: IML: stripped oil pan drainAny brilliant ideas on a quick fix for a stripped oil pan drain? I changed oil yesterday and the plug felt weird going in and would not tighten. It now just turns with a wrench but seems to be holding although there is a small leak. Guess the pan has to come off.Robin Giesbrecht 1972 Imperial _________________________________________________________________Take A Break From The Cold And Have Some Fun Indoors http://local.live.com/?mkt=en-ca/?v=2&cid=A6D6BDB4586E357F!142----------------- http://www.imperialclub.com -----------------This message was sent to you by the Imperial Mailing List.
