Paul,As it was a fairly basic repair to him, a quality merchant, he charged me all of $40 to do it. I will say it is difficult to keep the "v" shape truly pointed-have the welder leave you 'fat' at the break point- and per usual, a good man/woman with some elbow can make it better than driver quality with a light grade sanding and patience prior to dipping.
Jim, I will try and get to the casting for you as Kenyon is right: for the '55 and '56's, their is a number tucked into the groove on the rear of the ring.....
