Hello Bertil!!!!
I remember the car very vividly!! Due to a
cash flow problem I didn't bid on it but I am so glad to know that it's found a
good and caring home! If the pictures did it any justice at all, it is
truly a beautiful survivor! I had forgotten about it having the Rear
A/C.
Congratulations on owning an exceptional
Imperial.
Please post some pictures of your trip in the US
and its arrival in Sweden. I'm positive the whole list would love
to see them. I'm not sure how to go about that but Kenyon (sorry about
that, Kenyon) should be able to give you some pointers.
Congratulation once again -

Hi all IMLs!
My wife and I was in the US two weeks at the
beginning of May. We bought an
Imperial from Mr. Jim Gesswein, Gesswein
Motors in Milbank, SD.
It is an Imperial Crown 4 d HT 1965, green. It has the
rear a/c, and it is
working good.
With the car we drove from Milbank to
Elisabeth, NJ. Now the car is
somewhere between US and Europe, and it will
arrive to Gothenburg, Sweden,
on May 8, where we will pick it up again and
drive it home!
The tour in the US was totally about 2200 miles. The car run
very fine and
was very reliable.
Best regards
Bertil

Hi Dave,
That was my
pleasure to do the hinge write up. To see that door hang open
all on it's
own after what I'm sure was years of it being broken was well
worth the 3.5
hours it took to do.
About the rear a/c in Crown Coupes, the only one I
recall seeing was the one
featured in the 1965 brochure. The natural
presumption is that the rear
seats in coupes were less used by the nature of
2 door vs 4 door cars.
Infact, come to think of it, every dual a/c car I've
seen seems to be have
been a 4 door. So no, mine only has front a/c. Any
chance you'd post a
detailed rear a/c pictorial of your car for the 1964
page? That would be
good to have on the website.
Thanks for the note,
I enjoyed the function of that door stop twice today
already.
