Subject: IML: imperials europe - cost
!
with the current market of american classics such as it is in the uk it
would appear that my very own 60 crown be worth £10,000 - only trouble
is finding a worthy buyer, as most go for caddy's , chevy's or buicks as they
are most spoke of. even though the imperial is of a higher standing. the hot
rod market is up at the moment along with trucks. classics are seen as money
pits due to keeping them stock and upto scratch. most of all the cost of
purchase and shipping to uk then restoration of wotever usually exceeds the
final bill of sale ,hence the so called high cost in europe. yes dealers
do ask a lot but even private sales are not low. for instance i would like to
know if there are any class 3/2 60 crown 4dr p/l driving in the uk or europe ?
bet not !
rare as rocking horse s*** ! - aye!!!

Gentlemen, Just a note on
prices on this side of the Atlantic, both in Germany and
UK.
It seems cars over here
might be (and I emphasise might) might be considered highly priced,
perhaps for 3 reasons.
- Owners in the know tend
insure their cars at high value. In case of
loss, they know they need to recover the cost of shipping - and the
finding too.
- Proportionally, and
sadly, a good many cars over here are unfortunately a bit on the
rough side. Our notoriously bad
weather and puny garages don?t help. The well looked after
Top Cars, in great shape, are very much in the
minority. Hence the higher values for
these.
- Thirdly, because we?ve
fewer folk over here who are fully up to speed and knowledgeable,
SOME vendors try it on.
Regards to all, and a
truly great club
Rick,
London

Wow! That comes out to $23,296.10 in
U.S. dollars. Plus the cost of shipping. Sounds like a lot to me.
But then my budget resembles a shoestring with the ends
missing.
