Thanks Rob, that makes a little bit more sense.
Still, even though the price of gas has dropped here considerably (unusual for
the start of summer) I'm still giving it serious thought if nothing else for the
sake of the engines based on what I've been reading here and with converstations
I've had with others locally. Giving my 413s the octane they
were designed for would be nice from a performance level as well, though I
don't drive the '60 like I did when both me and the car were a lot
younger. The '62 still has quite a ways to go before that's concern with
it.
Based on how much I might drive the cars, sooner or
later the LPG conversion/addition would pay for it's self as well. The
added plus is the benefit of lowered emissions for the environment.
I do appreciate your's, Fredrick's and everyone else's
comments and information on this. It certainly calls for some serious
thought and study on my part.
Thanks for setting me straight on the
prices.

conversion
Hold on Jim!!
I was only talking about the price of the mixer,
I paid about $200 (or 150 Euros) for it.
You will aslo need the convertor (=regulator)
that converts liquid LPG to gas, the OMVL R90 costs about $ 150 (or 120
Euros).
Apart from these main parts you need gas tank(s),
and a variety of small parts and hoses.
The complete conversion cost me about $900. That
includes the costs for the test at the local DMV.

I couldn't help but notice that Rob's conversion in
Europe cost $200 and this cost's $700 plus $50 for the carb part? Even
if Robert is talking Euro $ that's still quite a spread.
