This is not difficult . . . except the piece is extremely brittle by this
time and will likely break, no matter what you do. First of all, do you
have the round or rectangular light. It's a trim level thing. On some 58's
the exterior shallow vee on the hardtop roof is reproduced. These cars
have a round light. Either way, there are two very small tabs that hold the
plastic in place in slots in the holder. When first installed these had a
certain amount of flexibility and resiliency but they were not designed for
a fifty years of service. I don't know where the tab is one on the round
style but I'd guess from left to right. That is where the tabs are on the
rectangular cover. As gently as you can, using a wide, thin, flat head
screwdriver, try to move the cover back, allowing, hopefully, for a certain
amount of remaining flexibility in the plastic, until the end of the small
tab is exposed, allowing that end to pop out. Good luck.

How do you remove the dome light on a 58 Imperial. I do not want to
break it getting it off.
Stupid question but any assistance will be appreciated.
