I need a car with some leather in it to try out the Leatherique process. The end results always seem to come out nice. My '64 Crown Coupe was redone in vinyl so once I find a replacement set of seat covers, I'm going to try it out ..if I don't come across another leathered and weathered Imperial before-hand..
Had no idea GY9 was so controversial, I think I like it all the more now. ;-)
Thanks for the link. Here's a link to a thread at Moparts about some GY9 problems. http://www.tinyurl.com/2gw9n8 The Y5 gold interior also has a kind of greenish undertone btw. I'm currently redoing my interior with Leatherique dye. For Y5 it is actaully a 2 stage process that starts with a rather unappealing army green base with a transparant gold glaze applied on top. The end result is really quite stricking! My buddy seat before/after: http://www.dickroyale.com/log/wp-content/photos/armsteun02.jpg http://www.dickroyale.com/log/wp-content/photos/armsteun04.jpg I'm waiting for some warm dry days now to finish the rest of my seats. Btw. that gold beauty is actually my car :-). Making a good set of pictures for the IML-site is still on my todo list...... For the time being, here are some slightly better ones: http://www.dickroyale.com/log/wp-content/photos/ophetpad03.jpg http://www.dickroyale.com/log/wp-content/photos/ophetpad01.jpg http://www.dickroyale.com/log/wp-content/photos/enginebay04.jpg Cheers, Frank '72 coupe (GY8 / MRY5 / V1Y) New Zealand ----------------- http://www.imperialclub.com -----------------This message was sent to you by the Imperial Mailing List.
