RE: IML: MPG (was My Imperial Dilemma)

Reminds me of the little old lady in the back of her Rolls Royce when asked
how many miles to the gallon she got and she said "If I need to worry about
how many miles to the gallon I get then I can't afford to own a Rolls Royce"
or something like that. I guess I feel that way about our Imperials gas
mileage. If we are worried about that no need to be driving 40 to 50 year
old cars!
That being said 6 is probably a bit low even for in town driving in the big
413/440 motors but 8 to 10 is probably normal for city driving and 12 to 15
on the open highway or that's the last figures I remember when driving a '62
Crown in 1962! Would the leaded gas give better mileage? Probably.

6 MPG sounds pretty low, even for one of big motored, heavy beasties. My 58

does considerably better, especially at highway speeds. It is, however,
pretty awful in stop start traffic, so I try my best to avoid it. I'd be
interested to know what other folks get from theirs.
