Imperialist Dave:In addition to the use for 'lost sock singles' hanging in MY drawer, how about the nylon/poly stockings with the runs my wife never wear's? Would they be able to filter and stand up to the heat, debris and water flow stirred up in the cleaning of the system? For I know they can be at times impenetrable to the human touch, and in fact on occasion will cause bad bruising to the back of the hands........... ;{)JackIn a message dated 10/30/2007 10:51:10 A.M. It also can damage gaskets, heater cores, radiator, and water pump seals. I would rather do several Cascade flushes, on a really bad system. The t-shirt filter is a good idea, but an old sock in the return hose at the t-stat end, would give more filter area, and not plug up so quick. Everyone has a lost sock in their sock drawer, now I found another use for it. Dave.
