That's even further back than I thought. Now that you mention it, I
have an advertisement for a 1932 Imperial Sedan that proclaims the
advantages of Floating Power and (I think) Free Wheeling! I should dig
that out and see what else it describes that we might or might not
recognize today.

Chrysler first used the term "Floating Power" in 1931. The trade
name represented the industry's first attempt at scientific placement
of engine mountings to accomodate engine movement.

Floating Power may have been a registered trademark at one time. I
don't
recall what year Chrysler developed the Floating Power engine mount,
but it
was significantly different then anything else used at the time. The
big
advantage was no metal to metal contact & this cut down on engine
vibration.

Subject: IML: Motor Mounts
I'm planning on ordering a set of Motor Mounts plus a Tranny Mount
for my
'66 Lebaron. The ad I was looking at from 'Imperial Services'
mentions the
motor mounts are "60-66 Floating Power Engine Mounts".....was this
just
the term used for these parts back then?...or are these NOT the motor
mounts I need for my Imperial?
That is the term and these are the correct items.
