Beginning in 1956, Southampton was the name give to the pillar-less
hardtop models, and in 1957 those in all three of the new series, as
opposed to the sedans with a post between the front and rear windows.
There were no sedans after 1960, just Southampton's and they shed that
name in 1963. There was a sedan once again in 1967, but it was simply
called an Imperial.

Subject: IML: Ranking of models and packages
Folks,
I've searched on the site and elsewhere for this info, and maybe I
missed
it, but I don't quite understand the rakings of models and/or packages
in
the Imperial line. In the '61s for example, where does a LeBaron sit
vs. a
Crown or Southampton?
Thanks,
David
