I just spoke with someone on the phone who wrote into the club website. PLEASE READ ENTIRE EMAIL BEFORE RESPONDING. Parents have passed away and there is a 1973 in the carport that was Dad's pride. Description is that the car is blue with decent exterior and a very good interior. Has been neglected and parked for 20 years in a secluded carport. It is presently not running, but the impression I got on the phone was that it was from disuse, and not a breakdown. The car must go before 2/25. Seller is motivated and is asking $500 at my suggestion, far below the $1300 that they were speculating when they wrote in to ask about the car's value. You pick up - no delivery possible. I should mention that 1972/1973 Imperials are incredibly scarce and are some of the best handling, best braking, best riding, most competent Imperials ever made, with a totally unique set of styling cues that make them very different from other cars without being so obvious as to have over-the-top cues like tail fins to announce themselves, yet are a complete styling statement, unlike so many later vehicles that blended with their competition. They have incredible presence and are currently NOT very collectible according to market values, which means that they've gone to the crusher in spades and will likely be even more scarce later on. A great car that is presently under-appreciated. More info here if you've not paid them much mind: http://imperialclub.com/Yr/1973/index.htm If you have the ability to revive a car and have space for a 73 - they're big - I encourage you to consider this one. Seller says that it's an easy grab with a tow truck or trailer but would require towing from the location as the car isn't running. REQUIREMENT: Seller asks that you write to them at Atrl4@xxxxxxx and describe your interest in the car/why you should be THE ONE, since she'll likely get more than one inquiry. She is VERY concerned that it survive and seems amiable and easy to deal with. Has refused repeated offers on the car from the local low-rider gentry. She would appreciate it if it not wind up in a derby or making sparks. Car must go before Feb 25. Located in Midland Texas.
