Self-Introduction: Hi!
My name is Dan Melnik and live in central New Jersey near Englishtown.
After retiring from AT&T (29 yrs) I now work for Lucent Bell Labs on
fiber optic systems. I am 56 years old, love cars, especially Imperial
s, and hope to fill the new 3-car garage with different years(soon as
I hit the Lottery!).My original 'daily driver' 1966 is now a'partscar'
for my 2-'66 convertibles. The first one (her name is Cinderella) came
from Montana. She needs paint and lots of TLC.The 2nd convertible
,her name is BRANDY, was bought from Mr. Mel Hayes, Horses Head, NY, I am
told came originally from Florida, belonged
to an artist there;she is drivable but needs various items, including
a new top, before I will drive her around again and show her off.The
new garage is so I can work on restoring BRANDY and her sister.I hope to
start working on them very soon.I am going to strip the '66 4-door car
for parts to use on the convertibles and will be selling everything
else, so I can look for a "convertible PARTS CAR". If anyone knows of
one PLEASE send me an email (dmelnik@xxxxxxxxxx) and let me know.
Also, if anyone knows of decent restoration/repair shops in my area please
let me know!
I am far from am expert in auto repairs but if I can help any other IMPERIAL
members out there, do not hesitate to contact me for '66 parts or info. We
may be able to trade both!!!
"HI" to all and hope to hear from some of you in the future!.By the way, I
believe Mr. Hayes still sells cars that he gets mainly from Florida so if
you are interested you can probably find one of his adds in HEMMINGS MOTOR
NEWS. (sorry! I don't have his # anymore!)
Thanks for your time.
Dan Melnik
