Car(s) owned: 1965 Imperial Crown (siver with purple leather!)and a 1965
Chrysler Californian Station wagon! I know the later isn't an Imp but there
wasn't an Imperial Wagon!

Self-Introduction: I have had many cars (mostly musclecars) but as I get
older I am drawn to the luxury cars(Imps and Rivs). My 65 is Silver with a
purple (thank goodness it is dark and compliments the silver exterior![could
you imagine a Plum Crazy interior?yeeck!]) leather interior, in need of
paint and interior. I would love your help on 2 problems. First I have a
smoky(as in smoking!) ballast resistor, I have changed alternators, ballast
resistors,voltage regulators(adjusted the second one down!),replaced all
frayed/damaged/ugly looking wires in the circuit, even disconneted the
alternator ground for a little whilethe only advantage is the regulator
stopped smoking and it now takes 30 seconds for the ballast resistor to
smoke! I do not know what to do next please help! The next is important to
the wife (thus VERY important to me also!) I need to find purple leather to
replace my interior ( I will be going to the Lebaron style with pleats). I
am infatuated it seems with the year 1965 as a highwater mark for American
automobiles
. Remember this is my own infatuation, and by no means do I insinuate your
75 Imp is any lesser of a car. I feel with most of my comments I have to
overstate my position as not to ruffle feathers! I really love my 65 as it
is the most luxurious auto I have owned (the 65 Riv was close, but that only
counts in horse shoes right?)!! Thanks in advance! Thad and Angie
