Hi Dan,
Ghia is the "coachbuilder" that receives partially built Imperials from
Imperial (though I was going to say Chrysler, huh?) and stretches them and
workes their custom magic to create "Imperial Limosine - by Ghia"
Similar to how today's modern limosines are built. Lincoln doesn't actually
build the entire limo, but ships partially built Lincolns to a "coachbuilder"
that completes the custom work and thus the final product. A limo is born!
Father being the manufacturer (providing the basic ingredients if you will, and
the Mother is the coachbuilder (takes the "ingredients" and bakes it to
perfection as the final/finished product)
I believe that Stageway (coachbuilder) built Imperial Limo's in the late '60s
or early '70s.
