A/C compressor and clutch 1974 Imperial - New-Yorker interchange?

Hi All,

I'm going to buy A/C compressor and clutch. 
Unfortunately there are no parts for 1974 Imperial.
I was offered for New-Yorker the same year and 440
engine. Can someone check if it's interchangeable? 
Other question: In instruction for the compressor 
written it's suitable for R12 and R134a is it 
possible?
