Homemade 4 door '66 ragtop, oh my!

outside of another Imperialist! ;-)

Anyhow, I recall seeing from the frame diagram for the
ragtop in the '64 FSM that there's a large "X" brace
midsection between the parallels.  This is probably
the major source of body reinforcement.  A convertible
IMLer (like Dan) might be able to tell you what else
the factory did.

Sooooo, if you bought the car, you could get an x
brace welded in and if the shop did a pretty enough
job, when you show your '66 four door ragtop off at
Carlisle to the numbers match guys you could blame the
whole thing on Ghia (and wait for F**d to sue you).  

Meanwhile your machine just might be the envy of THE
REST OF THE WORLD.
