whitewall width for 1974?

Hi,

I'm wondering about right (original) width of
whitewall
for 1974 Imperial. My car has 1 5/8" whitewall but
it's
second tire set. On pictures in 1974 Imperial Sales 
Brochure it looks like 1" or even less! So what is the
right width?
