Hi Luis,

Here's my thoughts on the above:

Stick to stock on those battery and brake parts.  Redo what
you have to like-new, and they'll work like new.  The only
place that problems pop up is when you don't do 
!everything! in a system like the brakes, and the remaining
old parts fail or work poorly, giving the new ones a bad
name.
