i know we have covered this before but its a
problem that runs in streaks for me...disappears and then re-appears weeks
later...has been doing it for months....
first start of the day is fine....hot
re-starts are lately getting a clicking and grinding noise for 4-5 times
before starting....something is causing an open circuit...
i have tried jiggling the gear shift..connecting
and un-connecting the seat belt interlocking mechanism under the hood(
something is tripping the thing cause you have to push the red button and it
will start; similar to re-setting your circuit breaker) It looks like the
switch on the tranny has been replaced by the previous owner....
anyone have a similar experience with their '74
and or '75 imp?..i have never been stranded but I am pushing
the envelope..car has had the battery recharged and the starter
replaced...thanks!
