Autolite plugs for sure are the best in a Mopar. I had my
original Holley rebuilt & it works much better, but still not as good as the
earlier Carters do.
I have the original wheels on my 69
& have 235/75R-15's. Who told you that you can't use larger then the 215's?.
They came new with L78/ 15's which translates to the present day
235's.

re; dual exhaust on a 69 Lebaron. I had a local shop
(castlerock, Co) put duals on my 69 Lebaron several years ago and have had
no problems. However for some reason they didn't put on an H
pipe, so I had my local Midas shop add one and it really improved
the sound and the performance. Now I'd like to pick the brains of
any experts on the 69 Imperial. 1. What is the best plug for
this 440? ( I'm just not sure about Champions
anymore. 2. Is rebuilding the original Holley the best way
to go? I can't get used to the lack of external float
adjustments. The AFB of a few years earlier sure seemed to deliver
trouble free performance. 3. I like to keep things pretty much
all Mopar but when it comes to wheels I confess to using 8" GM truck
Ralley (sp?) wheels on my 69 Lebaron. They are a 5 on 5" pattern and
have zero offset no scrape, no bind. The only change needed was to
go to a 13/16" lug nut (as opposed to the Mopar 3/4") Results are better
handling, better tire life and the capability to use bigger tires.
According to the Tire manufactures guide the optium size tire for 6"
wheels (that came stock on the 69 Lebaron) is only a 215/75 R 15) In
case I should be more specific my wheels are from an 1984 2whd C10
Suburban. These wheels were used on 2whd GM half ton (and 3/4 ton
vans) from the mid 70s to the late 80s the pickups changed in 1988 but
suburbans,vans and 2whd Blazers/Jimmys remained until
1992. 4. Did Imperials use the 5 on 5 1/2" in 1966?
I will be very grateful for any and all
