I too run radials on all three of my 67 imperials. there is no problem installing radials on them. But as originally designed and manufactured, the original wheels on these car were not built for radials and since radials transmit more of the force to the wheel, it causes the wheel to flex, which in turn can make the hubcaps squeak as the wheel rotates and flexes. I think people blame the hubcaps when in fact its probably the wheel most of the time. As a safety issue I wouldn't mind getting new wheels anyway because of metal fatigue and corrosion could cause a catastrophic wheel failure. Not a good thing in a 5500 lbs. car going 60 to 90 mph. That is why I would like to get new wheels.
