In 1955 and 1956 Chrysler offered two 2-door hardtops each in the Windsor
and New Yorker series.
In the 1955 Windsor Deluxe series, the Nassau went for $2,703 while the
Newport went $2,818. The Nassaus was a replacement for the now defunct
pillared club coupe model. In 1956 the Windsor Nassau was $2,905 and the
Windsor Newport went for $3,041.
The New Yorker hardtops were the Newport and St.Regis, although the Newport
was cheaper than the St.Regis.
DeSoto offered two 2-door hardtops in its 1955 DeSoto Firedome series - the
low priced Special and the regiular Sportsman. In 1956 the Special became
the Seville, and was offered in 2-door and 4-door versions, both lower
priced than the Sportsman models. The Fireflite did not offer a second
hardtop in either 1955 or 1956.
Similaly, Imperial only offered one 2-door hardop in 1955, the Newport, and
one in 1956, the Southampton.
