Mr. Exne'.s styling exercise

Thank you Mr. Exner for sharing this beautiful set of drawings with us.  I wonder how many other lists can boast such a thing:  the son of the famous Virgil Exner taking the time and thinking enough of this group to share his thoughts/dreams about a new Imperial?  Rather than go into a point by point critque of the car as has already been done by others on the list, I would just like to respectfully say, "I would love for it to be parked in my driveway today."   I am no fan of round taillights as I grew up seeing them on Impalas and Chevelles for years, but other than that, I think this is a beautiful concept for a current and near future Imperial.  The syling cues from the past are a visual delight and the front/rear overhangs add so much to the car's proportions.  Sometimes concept cars DO make it to production relatively unscathed.  You should see the original drawing for my '66 Olds Toronado.  The body design began as a styling exercise and with only a few minor changes it went to production as it was first drawn.  As I said, I would love to clear a space in my parking court today for this Imperial.
