Imperial Roses

Hello Allen-

Right. I planted one several years ago also, it did not thrive and eventually died. I'm in N.C.

Hello All,
I thought I would weigh in on the Chrysler Imperial rose. My wife is a horticultural nut. Several years ago she ordered and planted one of these beauties. It is without a doubt the most brillant deep red I have ever seen. However, it is a hybrid. This means that a harsh climate is murder on them. After the first year, it refused to flower. By the fourth year a pinkish red rose did appear. My wife and I have joked that it turned into a Newport. Consider this a "word to the wise".
