I was outside this weekend, playing with my '83 (I call him "Guido") I
have owned Guido for about a year, and it breaks my heart to see him
these days. I haven't done anything to get him going except a wash and
wax every so often. I start the engine and drive it forward and
backwards a few feet, but that is about it. While I love the looks and
idea, I have to face facts. I will never restore this car and get it
back on the road. I am hoping someone out there would like a chance to
own Guido for themselves. I am not looking to make a killing or sucker
anyone. Guido has a few problems, but he is a solid, beautiful fellow. I
would like to get $1000 out of the deal, but I am very flexible. I can
be contacted at: wilkerbeast01@xxxxxxxxxxx or by phone: 209 874 3695. We
are both in the Central Valley of CA. Guido has a short list of ills,
which follow: crease in the rear corner with a broken right tail light
lense, ragged interior (Creme coloured velour), headlight doors in the
open position, transmission sick and the right front tyre goes flat
after a week. On the plus side, he is complete for parts and the engine
runs quite well. He has the factory carb conversion too. No rust, other
than a surface scratch.
If I cannot find him a home amongst his own kind, here in the IML, I
shall advertise in the local paper. Thank you all for your help over the
past year, and may the Imperial live forever!
