Correct me if I am wrong. In 1953, the transmission used with fluid drive uses non-detergent 10W motor oil. In 1953 the Powerflite automatic Transmission uses automatic transmission fluid. (Type unknown) Jim

The is a person that advertises in the WPC newsletter with 10W non-detergent oil for Chrysler transmissions. The add doesn't say what year range this is used on. He is getting $15.00 for 2 quarts which includes the shipping cost.John----- Original Message -----From: roger crabtreeSent: Sunday, June 01, 2003 5:59 PMSubject: Re: IML: 1953 imperialIf your trans fluid is clear it is what they called a
type c fluid. I had the same in my 55 and it is
compatable with the Dextron varieties. Mine had a
screeen rather than a filter thank god. Changed the
oil and it was fine. Trans fluid in the power
steerring i'm not sure about. does it go off the back
of the generator? I use clear power steering fluid i
mine and the filters are the same as the 58 ford power
steeing units and can be bought at Galleys Filters.
RC good luck
