Self-Introduction: Hello. Am 62 and retired out of advertising and
promotion. Divorced. Have been collecting, restoring, swapping old cars
since I was 14, mostly all full-size Chrysler products. This is now my
full-time hobby for the "later years". Also photograph and illustrate cars.
Belong to and participate in several car clubs. Enjoy the mystery of hunting
parts online, swap meets, and car shows. My '60 Crown sedan was purchased
new in Lincoln, NE by my Dad. I remember how stunning it was to stand there
and watch him write a personal check for $7000 when most cars I knew of went
for around $2500. When he died in 1981 it was a constant hassle with my
mother to keep the car healthy in her garage. Eventually the brakes froze up
from too-infrequent driving and I unfortunately stopped routine service
since it was 250 miles away from me. When my mother died three years ago I
was able to tune and re-condition the car to its original glory, Mauve in
and out.
My '67 coupe was found in Big Fork, Montana two years ago with 54Kmi. I
flew out and drove it home having to repair/replace only the rubber fuel
line connections. It's a dream to drive now with new radial tires and
mellow-tone dual Smitty glas-paks. Have always considered the body style
impressive. It is Forest Green in and out with leather bucket seats.
Metallic paint of the sixties tended to fade and this one was no exception.
It was repainted to factory original color seven years ago. Never any rust
or collision damage.
The '81 coupe came from St. Louis five years ago with only 30Kmi on it.
I've since pushed it up to 45Kmi in 2003. Still has the original fuel
injection system and performs very well. Color is the unusual Sea Foam Green
Metallic with matching cloth interior. It has the optional moon roof. All
these cars get positive attention whereever they go.
