Build a Tow Dolly?

I dunno about any plans, but they seem pretty basic. Only thing that may be
a problem is finding one stout enough to tow an Imperial. I have one, but
I've only used it to tow fwd's up to now. I couldn't put my 68 Imps on it
anyway, not wide enough.
I wonder if you could make one out of an early I-beam axle wide enough for
an Imperial, though I wonder if an early van axle like an A-100 Dodge or
Ford Econoline would work? Even a 50s or 60s pickup may not be wide enough,
perhaps a larger truck axle with the kingpins welded? There may be an
already existing tow dolley for larger trucks that may be able to handle an
Imperial or other larger Chrysler though. Might be worth your time to ask
around any local trucking firms or supply shops..
