Although the Imperial uses the same door hinge pillars, cowl and A-pillars
as the Cordoba and Mirada, the windshields are different. The roof line of
the Imperial differs from the Cordoba/Mirada. I know - had to fork C$450
for a new windshield for my 83 almost 2 years ago. Even the fellow at the
glass shop was surprised they were different.
Mechanically, outside the engine with its EFI, the car is the same as the
Cordoba / Mirada while such things as brakes and suspension are
interchangeable with the M body (Caravelle / Gran Fury, Diplomat, LeBaron /
Fifth Avenue), and many parts even with the Aspen and Volare.
