Paint prices ?

The right Maaco will do a great paint job.The trick is finding the right one.Do your home work,visit the shop,look at what is on there front lot,(the cars repaired).Look at the clenlyness of the people,the shop,and the attitude of the employees.

I had my '73 painted at a Macco shop in south Jersey couple of years ago.
Paint job looks great! People can't believe it's a Macco paint, and it was
done at a very reasonable price. The car always draws attention at car
shows/cruises, with many compliments on the paint job. You can see my car on

9. My car is the first one the top, dark green in color.

Paul's advice is good. I know MACCO is a production shop and you can't
expect them to give you show quality work. However, in my case the owner, a
gentleman up in years, has been a car buff since he was a teen-ager and to
this day goes to cruise nights and kicks the tires. I established a good
relationship with him so I feel comfortable with him doing the job.
However, I was able to lay out specific tasks that I wanted him to perform
for me and offered a premium if he would personally supervise the job. He
walked me through his shop and explained each step of the process that he
would use on my car. He did tell me that he is a production shop and
doesn't do much custom work, however, because my car was blocked and
primered he took it on.
I guess that is a long way around to saying...know specifically what you
want and lay it out to the painter...don't use a shop that doesn't treat you
as one of the family...be patient...look around for independent painters who
have access to a paint booth, they usually will be much less expensive than
a regular paint shop. One last item, if you intend to show your car in
competition you can expect to pay a premium price. If your like me, just
want it to look nice and clean when I take it out for my weekend spin.
