1960 Stuck engine update

Too good to be true, maybe.  Or maybe the guy is just an old car nut and wants to do the job.  California has excellent consumer protection laws, and if the guy is licensed (he must be licensed even for a $500 job) then you can check out his record with the state as well as his local references.  Consider a performance bond.  I say be careful and don't give up.

He says that would include magnafluxing. Imp like you though. Every time I get a good deal its not so good after all. Where would I get a great motor for 1960 413?

Thanks for the info. I guess my best bet is to stick things back together and have in hauled to a engine rebuilder. I talked to a man here in Bkfd Ca who said he would pull it, do all the machining that was needing and put her back together for me for $500.00 bucks. I would have to supply parts of course. Does that sound reasonable?

Thanks
Tim

Tim,
You can get cylinder sleeves for just about any engine.  Just contact an engine machine shop.

Ok,
The number 6 cylinder has a crack in the piston Sleeve. There was a lot of rust in number 6. A lot of rust. So I guess its going to have to come out. Do they sell piston sleeves anywhere or am I really out of luck?

Thanks
Tim
