I have used a very light sandpaper (1500 grit or so) to clean the contact points off. Then use an electric component cleaner and lubricant on the assembly (Radio Shack sells it in a spray can with an attached cleaner brush). If you use a grit which is too large (e.g., an emery board) you can leave grooves in the tiny contact points. -----Original Message----- From: mailing-list-owner@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:mailing-list-owner@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Elijah Scott Sent: Sunday, March 07, 2004 10:23 PM To: mailing-list@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: Re: IML: Crispy Critter Switches on old cars --- B&T Roddick <1roscoe@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> wrote: > Anyone have a tip on how to renew the little spot > contacts inside the rocker > switches for the window motors and door locks ('64 - > '66)? The best way to do this is to completely disassemble the switch and lightly sand or file the contacts. I rebuild window switches for all years of Imperials, so if you'd like more information, feel free to contact me off list at Imperial1971@xxxxxxxxxx Elijah __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!?
