Melissa, if you are hoping to surprise him I hope he doesn't read the emails..... At any rate, finding a nice drivable 65 coupe for 2500 is going to be difficult. I'd expect at least 3500 for a good driver in a 4dr and coupes are more expensive. Having said that, you never know what will show up. Although a month is not a long time, you might get lucky. Keep an eye on the IML classified and surf the oldcar trader web site, etc.. A suggestion that might work for you is to give him a check for $2500 with a photo of a 65 Imperial and let him do the shopping. That way you know he will be getting what he expects and will be pleased with it.. I expect the last thing you want is for him not to like everything about something you bought him.
