That's about as good as you'll probably get. My mother had a '74 Monaco Brougham in the mid-late '70s with a 440 that, with all the California emissions cr*p, got all of 7 mpg...on the highway! Countless trips to the mechanic and the Dodge dealer never got it to top 10, ever. I get about 14 on the highway in the '59 Imperial (413 cid); 15 mpg highway in '72 Riviera (455 cid); and 16 highway in '65 Bonneville (389 cid). At least all of them have more panache than a new Ford Excretion!
