Gas mileage..or lack of

hello...

Well I thought that i would give a report of my car(s)... the one that I
drive the most is the 71 4 door imperial with a hotter cam, larger bore,
larger intake and exaust valves aluminum intake and a 650 holley. The car
runs very very strong and sounds as calm as a stock 440. On my trip to the
Iowa meet in 2002 I was SHOCKED that the car returned a nice, solid 15 mpg.
In town I am stuck at 8.5 mpg every time. and out of town I get 15....seems
funny but that is the car ans I don't really complain at all, considering
it consistantly gets better mileage than my 2001 4x4 Ram with a 360 and 4.10
gears. The ram has never done better than 7 in town and 12 highway. This
is my 3rd ram in the model years from 98 -01 and that is all they have ever
done. So now I think of my 71 Imperial as fuel efficient...LOL........
