58 AC Compressor??

I just got my 58 out of storage (a non-AC car) and in it's trunk I found 
what looks like some type of compressor but not like anything I've seen 
(being a late 60's early 70's groupie).  It appears to be twin cylinder in a 
"v" configuration.  Has a Chrysler Corp. tag with a serial number.. a head 
has the number 1792 cast into it .  It has a tapered shaft coming out of 
it.. Does this sound familiar to anybody??                        (I'm 
pretty sure it ain't emissions related eh)
